Description
The behavior of the new light at Somerville and Dane is not right.
I was driving eastbound on Somerville Avenue on Monday morning at 2am. Somerville Ave had a red light, but the light did not change for over 60 seconds.
If the light is activated by sensors, perhaps the eastbound sensor is broken (there were no westbound vehicles while I was there).

It might be on a timer, but if so, it's weird that at 2am the main street at the intersection has a red for over 60 seconds. I've driven down Somerville Ave pretty frequently, and except for this time (which was the only time I've gone as late as 2am), I've never had a problem.
Whatever they're using, something isn't working as intended.

At least Mossland/Beacon/Somerville has something like 4+ unique phases, so long cycle times make sense. This light is at a simply 4-way intersection! It's hard to believe that Dane St should have a 60+ second green in ANY situation.
I think Mossland/Beacon/Somerville does become blinking red/yellow after midnight or so, as does Somerville/Park. Some of the new lights they set up have yet to be configured that way. Presumably the explanation, as with any complaint about anything related to Somerville Ave, is "it's temporary and will be addressed in the process of finishing the Somerville Ave project."
