Description

Cars are parking in the bike lane because there is snow along the curb. Remove the snow, ticket/tow the cars, or make it legal to park in the bike lane.

I don't own a car, but isn't this an extenuating circumstance, given that the snow has just obliterated 30-70% of available parking citywide? I would vote for "make it legal to park in the bike lane." But given that this won't be an instant fix, how about a fourth option: wait for the snow to melt.

I supposed it's an extenuating circumstance. But it happens every year, so the town should at least disseminate a policy on it--it's not like it's the first time it's snowed here.

Why should they make it legal to park in the bike lane? What makes motorists more important than cyclists?

The city should just properly plow to the curb...problem solved. Or after the storm, remove the snow with front end loaders similar to what they do in Brookline.

Yeah, Cambridge seems to be scared of coming within 3' of the curb with their plows. Result: this mess.
